Thermal Imaging - how it can save you money with electrical faults
Preventative maintenance is always more economical than post-failure repair. When anything breaks down, in addition to the cost of repair or replacement, there is also the cost of unplanned downtime if the problem is big enough to disrupt operations.
So if we can prevent the issue before it leads to downtime this will always be cost effective to some degree. Further more, this essentially means that if conducted and implemented right, thermal imaging will be a cost effective solution to electrical maintenance and in most cases lead to both short term and long term financial benefit.
Identify Hidden Threats
Thermographic cameras, employ infrared light to capture images that are invisible to the human eye, translating them into visible colour spectrums so that we can see, understand, and use them to instantly recognise and identify suspicious irregularities in heat.
Thermal imaging is non-invasive, thus enabling electricians to physically stand back and examine from a secure distance. Thermographic surveys can be conducted without needing to physically intervene with aparatus, making the process significantly faster and safer.
Maintenance in advance
If you are the facilities manager you can now schedule the necessary remedial repair at a reasonable cost, with little disruption to the business, and plan according to your own unique schedule.
