Employee Spotlight - Meet Nathan

In the first of our employee spotlight section we spoke to Marketing and Sales manager Nathan and asked him about his time at Protest ES Ltd.

A keen sportsman with a passion for the red side of North London, Nathan is one of the founding pillars of the company with a voice like an angel. He is the brains behind the marketing team, and always has a smile on his face. To stay on his good side we recommend to make sure to get Nathan a coffee.

1. What is your role at Protest ES Ltd?

Sales & Marketing Manager

2. What do you like most about the work we do here?

Learning new methods of marketing and software and processes involved, that (hopefully) help to make an impact on the business development side.

3. What are you most proud of in your career so far?

Outside of generating some leads that developed into pretty substantial and long-term clients. I’d say being self-taught for the most part. What I mean by that is, everything I do or have done has been mainly learned or discovered by me so I’ve had to adapt to many different software’s, processes and methods of marketing. It’s been a learning curve and it still is very much a learning curve.

4. What's one thing people don't know about you that they would be surprised to find out?

I once auditioned for the X factor as a teenager, didn’t make it, clearly. I’ll stick to the shower.

5. What is the most interesting project you've worked on here?

Good question, there’s been many but I’d say the multiple website developments and also building social media channels to have reasonable followings now, especially on Twitter. Lot of different content is involved, some of it works some of it doesn’t.

6. How long have you been with the company?

Seven years as far as I am aware, heard you get less for murder in some places.

7. If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

Not sure it’s a superpower, but I’d definitely say one of my strengths is humility, I try to be as self-aware as possible, It can be negative though, because it can also mean that I am perhaps overly critical of myself more than I should be. But I do think it also makes you a good team member in theory, because you are able to put your ego aside and accept constructive criticism because you’re already your own biggest critic.

8. Do you support a sports team, and if so which one?

Yes I do, I am a long suffering Arsenal fan, but things are looking brighter now.

9. What do you enjoy most about working at Protest ES Ltd?

The people for sure, if you don’t like who you work with I don’t think that there is much point in staying at a company. Also have to mention the directors are incredibly supportive and very personable, they have done a lot for me and others that they absolutely didn’t have to do and I’m very grateful for it.

10. What’s the last song you listened to?

Rod Wave – Letter from Houston

11. What, if anything, are you currently binge-watching?

I’ve just finished the fourth season of Westworld, it’s unreal.

12. What’s one thing on your bucket list?

Not really much of a bucket list worthy thing, but I’d love a skiing holiday eventually.
