18th Edition Amendment 2 now live!

The Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) are continuously reviewed to make sure that all requirements are in line with the electrical demands of the present day industry standards.

In order to maintain technical continuity with the UK, these assessments may also take place when standards change at an international or European level.

After the inital 6 month transitional period, BS7671:2018 Amendment 2 is now operational and comes into power with immediate effect.

What does this mean?

Existing installations that have been installed in accordance with earlier editions of the tegulations may not fully conform with Amendment 2 requirements. However, this wouldn’t necessarily mean that they are unsafe for continued use or will need upgrading.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE - Any work carried out on an existing installation will need to meet the requirements of Amendment 2 after 27th September 2022.
