Don’t ‘runway’ from your statutory Electrical Compliance Testing requirements
Our engineers recently visited a site at one of the largest airports in the UK. Protest ES Ltd engineers were carrying out EICR electrical testing compliance, as well as thermal imaging works, as part of an ongoing programme for this client.
The engineers discovered this serious Cat 1 issue on one of the outbuildings at the airport. The client was quickly made aware of the situation and taken to the location of the problem straight away.
A live, male socket was found by our engineers on the outside of a wash bay that was in constant daily use.
As shown here, the pins are live and exposed. There was water that was frequently used in close proximity and more worryingly the socket was easily accessible.
This was immediately made safe by our engineers and has been isolated back at the MCB. These emergency remedial works were carried out free of charge.
