Here at Protest ES Ltd we have a division dedicated to electrical remedials, installation and project works. These are completed by teams of expert engineers located throughout the UK who specialise in this aspect.
The pictures above demonstrate what our engineers encountered recently. The picture on the left was found on the site of a major, well known passenger transport business. Our engineers came across an extremely old distribution board that needs upgrading immediately as it fails compliance and is dangerous.
Whilst on site, we were also asked by the client to fit a simple ISO, as you can see from the picture on the right. From LV switchgear installations to remedial works, lighting upgrades and EV charger installs, we cover a wide spectrum of project works.
There is a common misconception that once the EICR (fixed wire testing) has been completed on site that clients are legally covered with their electrical testing compliance. This is not the case at all, the resultant remedial works highlighted in the initial test findings must be carried out in a timely manner.
Evidence of these repairs in the way of minor works certification can then sit alongside the EICR results and only when the repairs have been carried out can legal compliance be fully demonstrated.
Imagine taking your car for an MOT and then not carrying out the repairs so you can then legally drive, would you use an unsafe car that failed its safety MOT ? This scenario applies to electrical testing also.
